Guthrie Corridor Expressway

A Shortcut to the North and South

From personal commutes to commercial convenience, the journey from Shah Alam to Rawang offers dynamic accesses to townships with world-class amenities along the way.

From hill slopes of ferns and a vista that courses through serene fields of oil palm, the Guthrie Corridor Expressway is a visual treat. GCE connects Shah Alam and Rawang and provides road users with access to the North-South Expressway as an alternative route for users to bypass NKVE as well as a direct link to the Kuala Lumpur-Kuala Selangor Expressway (LATAR).

GCE offers an unprecedented level of road connectivity as it forms part of the Kuala Lumpur Outer Ring Road (KLORR) and is linked to the North-South Expressway Central Link (ELITE) as well as the upcoming West Coast Expressway (WCE).

Safety is a priority at GCE, and this is apparent in the use of wide emergency lanes and utility reserve lanes on both sides of the carriageway, dedicated motorcycle lanes as well as a thoughtfully landscaped 4-metre central median. The expressway is also fully lighted to provide visibility at all hours. Proactive maintenance efforts here ensure that conditions of the road surface, lay-bys, rest and service areas, motorcycle shelters, lighting systems and even landscaping works are kept to exacting standards. Our rest stops have also become attractions – a convenient place for families to have meals together and enjoy the meticulously maintained playgrounds. These stops are also a welcome respite for commercial vehicle operators who benefit from the many amenities here.

A complete journey on GCE will take you through 3 state-of-the-art toll plazas at Bukit Jelutong, Elmina and Lagong, all designed to allow seamless traffic flow and connectivity to key townships.

Not surprisingly, GCE has been a catalyst of growth for townships along the expressway, providing the advantage of quick and hassle-free mobility. It is also home to the famed GCE-Elmina Duathlon, a competitive running and cycling event on a closed section of the highway that attracts participation by the thousands.
