PROLINTAS INFRA BT REPORTS ENCOURAGING START TO FY2025 WITH REVENUE AND PROFIT GROWTH
Kuala Lumpur, 22 May 2025 – Prolintas Infra Business Trust (“Prolintas Infra BT” or the “Trust”) today announced its unaudited financial results for the first quarter ended 31 March 2025 (“1Q25”). The Trust reported a steady start to FY2025 with toll collection of RM77.8 million, a 3.2% increase from RM75.4 million in the corresponding quarter of the previous year (“1Q24”). This growth was primarily driven by increased traffic volumes across its key toll roads, particularly Sistem Lingkaran Lebuhraya Kajang (“SILK”) at 3.8%, Guthrie Corridor Expressway (“GCE”) at 3.1%, Ampang-Kuala Lumpur Elevated Highway (“AKLEH”) at 2.8% and Lebuhraya Kemuning-Shah Alam (“LKSA”) at 1.8%.
The Trust recorded a profit before tax (“PBT”) of RM11.7 million, marking a 70.6% increase from RM6.9 million in 1Q24. This improvement was primarily driven by higher toll revenue, increased investment income from Shariah-compliant placements, and the absence of one-off listing expenses of RM5.2 million incurred in the previous year. Net profit increased to RM3.6 million, reflecting the same growth trajectory.
On 25 March 2025, Prolintas Infra BT successfully completed its second-half distribution of RM35.0 million, or 3.18 sen per unit, in respect of the financial year ended 31 December 2024. This brought the total annual distribution to RM70.0 million, representing 94.5% of the Trust Group’s Distributable Amount for the year.
The Trust maintained a healthy cash reserve of RM492.1 million as at 31 March 2025, providing strong financial flexibility to support future distributions, ongoing operations, and potential growth initiatives.
Looking ahead, the Chairman highlighted that the Trust remained optimistic about the outlook for its highways. Despite ongoing global economic uncertainties, the Trust remains confident in the long-term strength of its assets. Anchored by Malaysia’s resilient economic growth and ongoing urbanisation, the highways continue to serve as vital transport arteries within the Klang Valley. The Trust is focused on unlocking organic growth by enhancing the user experience through value-added services and upgraded facilities, reinforcing its position as the preferred choice for commuters.
As the nation’s first Islamic business trust listed on Bursa Malaysia, Prolintas Infra BT manages four key highways – AKLEH, GCE, LKSA and SILK – that form critical transport links in the Klang Valley. Its assets are strategically positioned in high-density, high-traffic corridors, providing a stable foundation for recurring income and long-term value to Unitholders.
