YBHG. DATO’ MOHAMMAD AZLAN BIN ABDULLAH

YBhg Dato’ Mohammad Azlan Abdullah, age 55, was appointed as Group Chief Executive Officer of PROLINTAS Group of Companies effective 1 March 2017.

Prior to joining PROLINTAS, he was the Chief Executive Officer (CEO) of The New Straits Times Press (Malaysia) Berhad since 1 January 2012 after assuming the position of Chief Operating Officer on 15 October 2011. A Bachelor of Business Degree (Accountancy) graduate from University of Tasmania, Dato’ Mohammad Azlan is a Fellow member of the Certified Practising Accountant (CPA) Australia and Chartered Accountant, Malaysian Institute of Accountants (MIA) as well as fellow member of Institute of Corporate Directors Malaysia (ICDM).

He started his career in 1991 with Coopers & Lybrand before joining Projek Lebuhraya Utara-Selatan (PLUS) Berhad a year later. During his time with PLUS from 1992 to 1999, Dato’ Mohammad Azlan was involved in the pre and post construction of the development of the North-South Expressways privatisation project ranging from Project Finance, Budget, Internal Audit and Toll Operations. In 1999, he joined the President’s Office of the Renong Group (Property Division), overseeing the overall financial and operational performance of property companies within the group.

In 2001, he joined Big Tree Outdoor Sdn Bhd, Malaysia’s leading outdoor advertising company as General Manager, and became the CEO in 2009. He attended the Asean Senior Management Development Program by Harvard Business School Alumni Club Malaysia (HBSACM) in 2009 and Linkage Global Institute for Leadership Development Singapore in 2018.

Dato’ Mohammad Azlan is a Board member at Sapura Energy Berhad since October 2019, a Board Audit Committee member from March 2020 to September 2021, a Board Risk Committee member in October 2021 and has been appointed as a Chairman on 7 May 2022.

He also currently serves as a Deputy President for CPA Australia Malaysia Division effective January 2021, an IAP (Industry Advisory Panel) for Universiti Tenaga Nasional (UNITEN) effective 1 Aug 2020, was appointed as a Board of Director Universiti Teknikal Malaysia Melaka (UTeM) from 14 August 2020 – 13 August 2023 and Chairman of UTeM Holdings Sdn Bhd from August 2020 to June 2022. Dato’ Mohammad Azlan is also a Trustee of Yayasan Bina Makmur appointed in July 2021.
